Hanseat

54 m steel/wood cargo barge, 1907

The Hanseat is a 54-meter historic cargo barge built in 1907, now undergoing restoration by We4Water volunteers. Originally a steel-hulled river cargo vessel, she has been transformed into a vibrant cultural platform in Berlin. Since 2022, the Hanseat serves as our main Berlin hub for concerts, conferences, workshops, and community gatherings. The restoration project involves hundreds of volunteers working to preserve maritime heritage while creating accessible waterfront spaces.
